Playing in my Gluebook

I was cleaning off my desk today and happened upon (you know how that is) some papers I had made a few weeks ago. I was inspired by a tip Mary had shared in Your Vintage Gluebook about layering images. I took a botanical print and layered it onto a page out of an old dictionary. I had made these two pages to frame as a gift for my sister's birthday (she liked them!) and made a few extras to play with. So, today instead of putting them away I pulled out my gluebook. This is what I really love about my gluebook...whenever I'm inspired (especially when I should be cleaning my craft room) I can create a little piece of art that makes me happy. Here are copies of the papers I made...feel free to use them. The flower images are courtesy of Carolyn at Antique Images. Go play now!

It's a lovely effect isn't it? Beautiful images of the flowers, such gorgeous colours.

Funnily enough I did the very same layering/photocopying thing on my latest Collage Coterie pages, although you can't see mine as clearly as yours.

What stunning work - I am thoroughly enjoying reading through your blog. I have found you by blog hopping and am now a follower.

I just joined Mary's Vintage glue book course and made my very first page last night.

In the light of day it's as Mary said it would be - not much good, but I did enjoy the process.

Off to check out some more of your work

So beautiful, Linda! Both the overlaid prints and how you used them in your gluebook. I love that about my little moleskine gluebook too. It is small and easy to work in. At first I had a hard time getting used to it (so small!) but now I love it for the same reasons as you. thanks for sharing this, beautiful!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR STUNNING ART WORK
ON THE FLOWER PRINT DID YOU HAVE TO CUT IT OUT AND THEN PUT THE DICTIONARY PAGE BEHIND IT AND THEN SCAN...THAT IS ONE TECHNIQUE I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN BECAUSE I KNOW NOTTA THING ABOUT DIGITAL OR PHOTOSHOP
HAVE A SUGAR SWEET DAY
YOU HAVE A VERY SPECIAL BOND WITH YOUR SISTER...EMBRACE THAT BECAUSE NOT ALOT OF SISTERS EVEN SPEAK AND THAT IS A SHAME.
