Altered Tin From Joyce

Well, the deadline has past and all the tins should be arriving now. My tin from Joyce is so pretty! I'm a big fan of the Graphic 45 lines of paper and Joyce has used one of my favorites in altering my tin and even making a matching notepad and a gorgeous box to hold all my treats. She filled the tin with all sorts of fun things...buttons and tags, vintage garment pins and labels, flowers and ribbon. She included a big red "L" and even another tin filled with my favorite dark chocolate mint Altoids. Joyce you know me so well! Thank you sweet friend...I just love it!

What Red Lead image are you or mini me times three!

Debbie Metti dreamed up the theme this month for the atc swap on the Red Lead group and it's been so much fun making these cards! We were supposed to use a childhood photo of our face to transform any Red Lead stamp or collage image. I have so many favorite Red Lead images...especially their sweet line of rubber stamps...that it was hard to choose. But, I chose a stamp from one of their 6x9 stamp sheets called Scrap Girl. I just love this image...the way she's standing there, the expression on her face, her little haircut. I don't scrap so I changed the sentiment to "art girl" and don't ask me why there are three of me...I was playing in PSE and it just happened...but I don't think she'll mind. Here's a look at the stamp sheet. If you'd like your own scrap girl you can find her here. I can't wait to find out what Debbie's dreaming up for next month!

Salvage Studio Art party

The weather Saturday may have been dreary but there was no end to bright skies and high spirits at the Salvage Studio Art Party. The party was held at Artworks in Edmonds and hosted by Beth and Lisa along with Cindy Peska. The setting was magical...the room was decorated with whimsical sheet music banners and tissue paper flowers. The tables were set with lovely tablecloths, gift bags and everything we needed to get started on our projects. The festivities began with bird-shaped name tags, drawings for door prizes and lots of fun and laughter. Beth, Lisa and Cindy kept us focused on our projects (not an easy task with all of us talking at once) and the day just slipped away with all of us creating, enjoying each other, laughing, eating and just having the BEST time! It was great to see some of the gang from the charm swaps and fun to meet some new people too. There's something really energizing to me about being in a room filled with people who all love doing the same kinds of things that I do! After the projects were finished we got to shop in the vendor's area...so much fun stuff. All in all it was a great time...thank you Beth and Lisa and Cindy...you three really know how to throw a party! And thank you to Grace, Cathy, Kris, Lyneen and Miki for joining me and making it that much more special.

Altered Treasure Tin Swap

Linda Smith kicked off A Swap for All Seasons this year with an Altered Treasure Tin swap. We were to alter an altoids type tin and fill it with vintage treasures. After finding out a little about my swap partner Joyce, I felt like we were kindred spirits...we enjoy so many of the same things. So, "kindred spirits" became the theme for my tin. This will go out in the mail to Joyce tomorrow...the first day of Fall. I hope she enjoys it...I had such a good time putting it together for her!

Salvage Studio Charm Swap

What a fabulous time we had last Saturday at the Salvage Studio Charm Swap. The theme was black and white, the setting was Beth's lovely home and the charms were just great! While we were all chatting and catching up with each other we even got to shop in Beth's garage where there were all kinds of treasures. That's where I found this adorable carnival doll...Isn't she something?! Now, she's sitting...well stading actually...on my desk reminding me not to take anything too seriously. I love her feathers and her shiny silver hat...she makes me smile every time I look at her! So, here's a look at all the charms. Oh...I almost forgot...there's still time to sign up for the Salvage Studio Art Party on September 19...tell all your friends and take a look here...it's going to be a "swell" time!

Another Anniversay

I don't know about you but it sure seems like this past year has just flown by! Here I am, celebrating another anniversary! For the past few years Quinn and I have taken a few days around the end of August and headed to Cannon Beach, Oregon to spend a little quiet time together. The Oregon coast is so beautiful! We love walking on the beach, watching the seagulls and picking up sand dollars. There's something very peaceful and soothing about this stretch of coast...I don't know if it's the huge sea stacks or just the beauty of the water and the mountains but I always feel refreshed and revived after spending time here.
