1917 W. & H. Walker Catalog

I recently found two W. & H. Walker of Pittsburgh catalogs from 1917. There are only a few color pages in each one but all of the images are wonderful. I thought I'd share with you the color images from one of them. I've scanned some of the more interesting black and white pages also...you can find them on my Flickr page here.

Vintage Gluebook ATC Swap

I'm still enjoying my vintage gluebook inspired by Mary at Green Paper. I was so happy when she decided to organize an atc swap with the group and I was thrilled with the cards I received! Thank you Mary for organizing the swap and thanks to Susan, Linda, Jo, Frieda and Joy...your cards are lovely! Here are the cards I made for the swap. If you're interested in Mary's Vintage Gluebook Workshop she's still offering it in a self paced version. Go take a look!

Brides

I know June is typically "brides" month but I participated in two July bride swaps...a skinny swap and an atc swap. Brides are gorgeous any month don't you think?

Sew Wonderful ATC Swap

Vintage sewing notions, old buttons, patterns...I just love these things and can't pass them by whenever I'm thrift store shopping. I was in a "sew wonderful" swap lately and it turned out to be one of my favorites. Here is the card I made and the wonderful ones I got in return. Thank you Debbie, Diane, Becky and Jan...I love your cards!

Altered birdhouses

Red Lead recently held an altered chipboard house swap with a "fly away home" theme. Well, birds and houses are two themes that seem to recur often for me...so how could I resist playing along?! We each altered two houses...one to swap and one to display in the shop in St. Louis...how I'd love to go see them in person! I received this delightful polka dot house made by Ellen...isn't it pretty? And here are my houses. What a fun swap!

A Challenge and A Giveaway

Our wonderful Vintage Gluebook instructor Mary, of Green Paper, just keeps spoiling us with lovely images. Now, she's issued a challenge to use these images and everyone who does has a chance to win one of her vintage paper packages. I've used the image sheet Mary gave us to make another gluebook spread. For this challenge Mary said we could add anything we like as long as we used at least part of the three images given. I added a small digital image of a sailor to the letter...can you see him? Be sure to head on over to Green Paper and download the beautiful image sheet and enter the challenge!
