TMTA - Birds

The Theme this week on TMTA is birds. I was going to enter my "little birdie" card because I just love that stamp set from Time to Stamp but I thought I would make something new just for this. So here is my bingo bird but I've posted the little birdie again just because it makes me smile.

4 x 4 Friday Faux Postage

I had time tonight to take a look at the 4 x 4 Friday site so I thought I would give it a try. There's so much inspiring work here...I've had a wonderful time looking at all of the past entries.

White with a Touch of Pink

I signed up for an ATC swap on the Inkyfunstampers ATC group. The theme is White with a Touch of Pink. I'm interpreting "white" loosely...my image is more cream. But that's a shade of white isn't it? Well, I hope my partner likes it!

PWA Fantasy Fatbook Swap

Here is my page for the PWA Fantasy Fat Book Swap. You know with PWA you have to incorporate microbeads into the design. I had the hardest time deciding how I would do that and in the end I just added a strip along the binding edge to outline the page. I'm not very creative in my use of the beads but...ah well. We had to make 17 pages. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done!

Red Lead Halloween ATC's

Here are all of the Halloween ATC's I received from the Red Lead Halloween Swap. Aren't they fun?

Red Lead Halloween ATC Swap

Here's my ATC for the Red Lead swap. I received the return ATC's last week and I'm in the process of scanning them in. It was my first time swapping with this group and I love all the cards I received. I'm working on the November swap now...

TMTA - Halloween

Here's my entry for TMTA this week. The theme is Halloween...how fitting! I love this time of year don't you?

TMTA

Well, here it is Monday again...oops, actually it's Tuesday now. The day just got away from me. I just made a quick card to enter into this week's TMTA. The theme is "friends." I really like this image...I've had it for quite awhile but sadly I don't remember where I got it. Anyway, here it it...

Pink Challenge

Evelyn at PWA issued a "pink" card challenge since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I realized pink is not a color I use very often. But I thought I'd give it a try and made these two cards. The color is off a bit in both...for some reason my scanner just couldn't get the pinks quite right...but you get the idea.

TMTA

I thought I would enter an ATC for TMTA. I've often looked at this site and been inspired by the art work. The category is moon and stars. Here's my entry...

Halloween's coming!

Here are a couple of Halloween things I've made. A card and an ATC. The ATC's will be going to the Red Lead Group swap. I won't be able to make the ATC swap at the Salvage Studio again this month but I did manage a Saturday off later in the month to take one of the classes!

Super sister

Well, this is the last month I'll have Beth for my super sister on PWA. It's been alot of fun getting to know Beth a little and trading presents each month. Here are the two things I created for Beth's box this month. I also made a card to enclose with all the other little things I'm sending her. I really love how these beaded bird magnets turned out. I'm going to make some more of these for everyone's Christmas stocking but instead of the beads I'm planning on finishing them off with beeswax. We'll see how that goes!

silly thing...

We're off for the weekend to Marrowstone Island...our last family fling before Katie leaves for college. I just thought I'd pop in and leave you with this silly thing...remember to fill your world with color!

You Are a Red Crayon

Your world is colored with bright, vivid, wild colors.

You have a deep, complex personality - and you are always expressing something about yourself.

Bold and dominant, you are a natural leader. You have an energy that is intense... and sometimes overwhelming.

Your reaction to everything tends to be strong. You are the master of love-hate relationships.

Your color wheel opposite is green. Green people are way too mellow to understand what drives your energy.

One other thing...

Here's another card I finished tonight. I made this in between working on my pages for the PWA All Year Flip book. I'd been so frustrated in my efforts to find small black brads! I'd looked everywhere that would possibly carry them but no luck. I would find every other color but NO black! I finally found some today in a package of mixed colored brads at Michael's. So, I was able to attach the black screening to the background panels. I've put some weathering on the panels and I'm going to let them dry until tomorrow. I'm hoping to get them finished by the end of the week. I'll scan one in when they're finished. They're essentially the bird collage I showed you awhile back with a few changes. You'll see...

BBB

Here's a picture of my entry for the August BBB (beady buddy bonanza) for PWA. It's a Halloween microscope slide pin. I have it all ready to send to Cheryl who was the lucky winner of this month's drawing. If you'd like to see all the things she won you can look here.

Technique Junkies

I've received two Technique Junkies newsletters so far and I've really been enjoying learning some new background techniques. The latest one I've tried is called "scraped oil pastels." Here is a card and an ATC I made out of the background.

last two...

...and more

More charms

Well, I couldn't post my charm without letting you see all the others! Take a look...there was a wide variety of charms. We're planning another one for February. I already have an idea of what I'm going to make but I'll keep it under my hat for now!

Charm Swap

Last Saturday we had the charm swap at the Salvage Studio...it was such a good time. We had a "charm buffet" if you will. Beth had us all set out the charms we had made on a large plate around a long table. Once the swap started we all just went around the table picking up a charm from each of the plates. After everyone had collected one of each of the charms we sat around the table and took turns giving a little info about the charm we had made. Here's a picture of the charm I made. It's a one inch section of an articulated measuring tape. I glued a rusty heart onto it and attached the word true to the heart. It's inspired by the phrase "love is the heart's true measure." I enclosed each charm in a matchbox decorated with the phrase on the outside.

New Stamps

I ordered some stamps this week from Time To Stamp and they arrived yesterday. I ordered 2 sheets and two individual stamps. I had one in mind for the Fantasy Fat Book swap I signed up for but it's smaller than it looked online so I may have to rethink that. But I love the stamp and I'm sure I'll use it for something else! I love the bird sheets...you know how I love birds! These are perfect...just the style I love. So, I've been playing around with them this afternoon and made a simple ATC with a stippled colors background. Take a look...

Art in the Mail

I had to show you the little package of goodies I received today! I was lucky enough to actually win these by leaving a comment on a blog. I know...it's hard to believe seeing that I never win things...but it's true! The other night I happened to stumble into the artful blogger party held by ArtsyMama to celebrate the new magazine Artful Blogging. She had links to various other sites where people were sharing their art and offering tutorials and basically celebrating. I followed a link to the site of Jennalee who was offering a nice little tutorial on making mixed media collage atc's. She has a wonderful, whimsical style and I loved the faces she drew. Not only did she share the tutorial but she offered to send a little collage package and one of her atc's to a random name picked from those who wanted to leave a comment on her blog. Well, lo and behold...she drew the name linda. But here's the fun part...there were actually TWO lindas. She was generous enough to send a package to each of us!! I had to laugh about this because just the other day I was sharing Catholic school memories with Jean at work. I was telling her how back in 1st grade Sister Marilyn had told me that my name was the most common one in the school. I remember feeling sad then about having such a common name. But look what it's done for me now! Thank you Jennalee...you made my day!

August already

I can't believe how fast this month is going by already! I don't know where the time goes. I've been working on a few things but nothing too much to show yet. I made a microscope slide pin for the August BBB on the PWA site and another bird collage card. I signed up for the 6 x 6 All Year Flipbook swap and chose April. I plan to do a variation on this bird collage for my month. I need to get started...I have to make 13 identical pages due by 9/30. I've sold a few things on Ebay lately to fund my new stamp habit. I ordered several stamps today from Time To Stamp...I can't wait to get them so I can play around. I've also had fun trying out some of the techniques in the Technique Junkies newsletter. I'll post some of those soon. In the mean time here's the pin and collage card. I think I may send the card to lambie...
