A Swap for all Seasons

Another wonderful swap has been completed at A Swap for All Seasons. This time around Linda dreamed up a May Day Tussie Mussie swap for us. Linda hosts this wonderful swap four times a year and it's by far the best swap I've been involved with. The themes are always a surprise and the group of swappers are the best! It was so much fun putting together my tussie mussie and box of goodies for my online pal Debbie. I've never "met" Debbie in person but we've been swapping with the Red Lead group for the past couple of years and I've come to know her and love her style and enthusiasm. It was a real treat having Debbie as my partner for this round. She pegged me exactly! Look at all red and white polka dots, gnomes and little sheepies she's put together for me. Thank you Debbie...I love my package!

PS....Linda's just posted the theme for the next swap so if you're looking for a wonderful vintage swap go take a look at a Swap for All Seasons and sign up!

Artfest 2010

I was so happy to be able to attend Artfest again this year. There's nothing quite like it...4 days of "art camp" if you will with 500 or so like minded people all going in different directions, creating all kinds of art, staying up until all hours of the morning sharing, laughing, trading and having a wonderful time. I won't mislead you...there were a few negatives. I thought the food was not so good this year and the temperature in my dorm room flip-flopped between sauna-like and frigid. But, those were small things compared with all the fun I had. I loved my classes! I took a jewelry class with Melissa Manley...who's one of the nicest people. I learned how to use Ice Resin with Susan Lenert Kazmer (who's a tiny bundle of energy) and I took a class with Linda and Opie O'Brien for the second year. I love them...their classes are so much fun and I love the piece I ended up making. I was able to meet up with Barb and Nancy who I met at Artfest last year. It hardly seemed like we hadn't seen each other in all that time...we just fell in again like it was yesterday. And it was a special treat that Cathy and her friend Susan came along this year. If you'd like to see more photos of Artfest take a look here. And if you're already dreaming of next year...take a look at the Artfest website.
